Peace is ...
Admiration for the richness of cultures and values that makes us as humans,
Tolerance towards our neighbors,
Respect for one another's opinions and beliefs,
Acceptance of diversity,
Love for our race.
Peace is ...
Saying what you think, without being afraid of the consequences,
Giving debt relief to those who cannot pay,
Opening up your borders and welcoming foreigners,
Helping the underprivileged to develop,
Supporting your neighbor in times of need.

after being part of a cultural excahnge between the philippines and the united kingdom which theme was on peace and development, i had realized that peace could never be fond anywhere else but within's oneself. Genuine peace for me is having a well-informed mind, well-nourished body, emotionally stable heart and spiritually-fed soul. One must develop peace within oneself and it would be easier to influence and replicate it to other people.

Towards understanding and defining peace:
When 'peace' exists in a "strong state", it can be good. When 'peace' exists in a "weak state" and social injustice exists, it can be a bad thing. Thus often meaning that power domination of the weak is occuring, hidding structural violence (social injustice).
Sometimes the manifestation of violent conflicts is a result in social injustice (structural violence) and what is needed most is not "peace" but social justice (positive peace) so 'peace' and freedom can exist.
So maybe peace is not the highest goal, but freedom and "positive peace" (social justice is)?!

Peace for me is getting up in the morning, going to work or wherever, and not worrying about whether I or my belongings will actually make it home in one piece in the evening. Peace for me is also knowing that I'll always have a home, get proper medical care should I get ill, have three meals everyday without worrying about where the next meal will come from, always have the opportunity to provide for myself independently without depending on a husband, welfare or someone else, and being able to sleep at night. That is, for me, peace.

According to me, peace can be established only when there is mutual respect and acceptance. We must learn to value and celebrate diversity and be more tolerant towards people whom we cannot like otherwise. Each one of us is special and deserves to be respected and accepted for who we are. Peace will reign supreme if only we learn to reprogramme ourselves to treat each other with automatic love and respect and stop all prejudices and stereotypes that have been on autopilot for so long.
The vast potential inherent in diversity should not be wasted away in wars and violence.
Our society can be peaceful and productive only if it is based on human rights, diversity and inclusion and built in a spirit of respect, tolerance and mutual understanding.

Peace refers to ones happines at any point of time. Peace lies within ourself. To have peace, we should keep others happy, more important we should not hurt others even if they hurt us. In that sense we must maintain utmost patience, humility and affection to all living beings.

Peace is not only External (collective) but also Internal (individualistic). Absence of peace at either of these plains would deny a person his right to 'grow' as an individual in a way that is beneficial to the society as a whole. The fear and tears in the eyes of a child and a lesser GDP -- both are a result of lack of peace.
