New Year, New Hopes

It is not necessary to change; survival is not mandatory.
   —W. Edwards Deming

January 11, 2007—Have you made any resolutions for 2007? How about creating a positive change in your world? Many organizations and nonprofits out there have programs and platforms to connect socially active youth.

So, the New Year is a good time to see what's out there, and what grabs you. Here are some events, contests, and interesting websites to start with:

Tunza International Youth Conference, 26–30 August 2007
Organized by the United Nations Environment Program, the conference provides opportunities for young people (15–24 years) to learn from one another, share experiences and ideas on environmental efforts in their communities, and develop strategies to promote environmental protection.
