Lack of employment is a major concern in almost every sivilized society. Members of society expect to look for decent jobs after decent education to live better life. Government and private businesses therefore make it a major priority to develope job market where employment become availabe and easy to obtain.

As we all hope to be fully employed one day we make see it as a good reason to stay in school to get decent education to make job seeking less competitive.

Lack of employed in any society always creates ploblems and high crime rates. Emploment should therefore remain in the minds of every citizens in all nations of the world .

"boesveld" from Netherlands, age 39

"adesholako" from Nigeria, age 25

My first job was with Intermedia Group a company that specialises in PR, media consulting firm, image making and research. I started as a field officer in Dutse, Jigawa State in northern Nigeria. It was quite challeging, as a fresh graduate i was made to run the entire Jigawa State office all by myself for three months! I travelled alot during this period, doing research on our client, the Jigawa State government, it was fun. I loved the job, though it was quite risky, because there were times i had to travel with the governors' convoy at odd hours of the night. It was quite an experience that made me develop more confidence in myself and my capabilities.

"aby" from Netherlands, age 19

I was 17 when I had my first job. For the summer vacation I worked for a home for the aged. Just like every other teenager I wanted pocket money to pay for my 'little pleasures.' But the longer I worked the more I realized that it's not about what you get at the end, it's about the experience. The value of the money you earn is nothing compared to the lessons you learn.

"sapkotac" from Nepal, age 21

After passing A-level I first worked as an intern in a newspaper named The Kathmandu Post in Nepal for three months. After that I was given a permanent job. Working in a big media house in a circle of renowned journalist in a young age. While working in the business bureau I got an opportunity to learn and argue about issues that were hardly touched in the classroom textbooks. This was an excellent opportunity to interact with the business community face to face. Through this job I developed mature thinking, became politically aware and developed thinking from an entirely different perspectives. In due course of time I was able to realize what it feels like to have a job and more importantly what it feels like when someone has to leave a job involuntarily. I was able to understand not only the Nepali business sector but also the dire issues plaguing the Nepali employment sector and economy. It was a job worth done. I feel that I was lucky in getting the job.

"pr80ath" from Greece, age 26

my first job was at the customer care service department of the national telecommunications organization of greece! it was a fascinating experience with good money that helped me in my studies (in both financial and psychological terms!).

"minh" from Vietnam, age 19

My first job was to work in a local library as a volunteer to recieve hours in order to graduate high school. That is because I went to high school in the US, and doing community service is as important as taking classes. I wish we can do that in Vietnam.

I have always wanted to volunteer to work in "Tinh nguyen tre" (young volunteers) organization in Vietnam, but my mom did not allow me to do it, because I have to spend time for school. Seems like in Vietnam community service is only for people who had done some wrong and have to do it instead of going to jail. That idea is so wrong.

"loboblanco" from Mexico, age 17

Well ... my first job was as secretary; I helped a lawyer. It was a nice experience, not really cool about the salary but I think I learn a lot, I discovered how much independent I could be!!! And I meet interesting people who let me know that the world and the people who live on it are awesome in all senses!

"abbi" from Australia, age 25

"ws9015" from UK, age 32

my first job was at a surf shop, on a beach in cornwall. i started when i was 15yrs old; and was on a wage of £3 an hour, working for 12 hours a day with only 1 hour break. now when i look back on it, i have come to realise that i was overly expolited and any other children that will inevitatbly follow me and work in small shops for tiny wages and long hours. the UK is ment to be setting an example to other countries not to exploit childern in the work place; however with cases simular to my past experiences still going on then i can not believe that the UK is setting an example.

"a_palmaria" from Philippines, age 23

1 month fresh out of college, I started as a program assistant for a technical assistance project of a donor agency. It was a project for the energy and environment sectors. I was 20 years old. My first job was both a welcome surprise and a blessing. A surprise because it was definitely something "new" -- the sectors I started working in are technical in nature and complex. It was a blessing because of the learning and the training that I started to get. I was "learning by doing," and I was earning my own money. To this day, I still love my job, the people whom I work with, the people we assist, and the fact that I am doing something of value for my own country.

"hicham" from Morocco, age 28

My first job was a peasant, but I worked for just one day. I could not bear. With my friends in early childhood, we tried to collect copper and sell it. Then I bought second hands clothes and materials. This was not for long. I worked with a plumber, an electrician and a bricklayer. This was in our house. Now I am a teacher in a public middle school and a freelance in a local technology centre. I have already started volunteering at the old folks and young offenders centres. Life is hard, but beautiful.

Had a hard day in my job. I would love to do something more interesting (I'm working in an organic supermarket) but until now I just finished high school and without a higher qualification there is no chance to find anything better. At least it seems to me in the moment.
