Haiti: Facing the Future

With more than 60% of homes in Port-au-Prince housing four to six people in one bedroom, improving living conditions and waste management are high on the government’s list of priorities. In the next two months, the government will dispose of 50% of garbage and upgrade the living conditions of some 500 slums in Port-au-Prince. The plan calls for an increase in production capacity to provide water for four hours per day in cities.
