Singapore Youth Summit 2005
Some 500 students flocked to a local secondary school one early June morning in Singapore, even though school holidays were already underway.
These local secondary school and university students and representatives of youth organizations returned to class for a seminar on youth and development organized by the World Bank and a local school.
Nine students from the Anglo-Chinese Junior College spent four months planning the event under the mentorship of World Bank staff.
They set the agenda that got young people to learn about development issues, inspired them to think globally and gave the World Bank an opportunity to gain insight into their views.
