Youth Activists Making a Difference

Imagine sharing your innovative approach to combat a local problem with people who make policy and funding decisions in your country.

As part of an initiative to get youth views in the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings, four young Africans presented their work to their countries’ finance ministers and other policy-makers during a roundtable discussion.

They are making a difference in their communities and helping to fight HIV/AIDS.

These four initiatives are also previous winners of the Development Marketplace, a World Bank competition which funds unusual but brilliant ideas.

The four practitioners were invited to come to Washington for the Bank/IMF Annual Meetings as part of the institutions’ interaction with civil society. They were invited by a group of young World Bank employees.
